Training at Waikiki Gun Shop

To legally own a handgun in the state of Hawaii you must be a U.S. Citizen over the age of 21, attend a pistol course and pass a background check with HPD. Currently we offer a pistol course that will meet Hawaii state requirements for purchasing firearms. It is very helpful in learning how to safely handle and operate pistols.

Basic Pistol Course

The Basic Pistol Course is for beginners and Hawaii state residents interested in purchasing pistols. It is good refresher course that teaches modern basic marksmanship techniques. The state of Hawaii requires that all persons seeking a permit to own handguns attend a handgun class. This course will teach you basic knowledge of modern semi auto's and revolvers, firearms safety, basic-intermediate marksmanship skills and maintaining your handgun. All of our instructors are NRA certified with many years of experience and actively compete in IPSC/USPSA matches. It is mandatory our instructors actively participate in a shooting sport to maintain and keep current their marksmanship and firearms handling skills so that they can provide the student with realistic and current information.
